Devlog #2

Welcome!

Hello everyone! This is the second devlog for my game.

It's been a long time, hasn't it? I've made A TON of progress, but a lot has been under the hood stuff, so, not much to post.

The SECOND Boss

Tlaloc is the god of rain in Aztec mythology, and so he'll be the main boss in the Grotto. He's pretty scary in legends, and I think this design does him justice.

I coded and animated the boss, and I think his attacks will probably give you a bad time.


The REDESIGNED Boss

To fit in better with Tlaloc' design, I changed Huitzilopochtli's design.

Do you like him better?

Swimming

Fixed Swimming issues. Again. This is exactly what I said last time, but trust me, they're fixed now.

Finished the Grotto

The underwater Maze-like area of Xolotl is now finished. I am sure you will enjoy avoiding lasers and fighting jellyfish!


Environment

I made folliage and trees more 'interactable' by having them so that when you hit them, they break.


Backgrounds

Previously, Backgrounds contained differently sized pixels than the rest of the game, and it didn't really look good. This is now fixed on most backgrounds.


New Enemy!

Completely based on Haiku the Robot's tire enemy, I made this Mossy Rock enemy that bounces all around! It adds a bit of chalenge to the game that I hope you'll enjoy.


New UI

To fit in with some new designs and to make it look better overall, I redesigned the HUD!


New Area!

The mountains that get you into the city of the gods are finally here. Almost done with this area, it brings some very nice mechanics that I have a lot of fun with! But be careful, this area is by far one of the most challenging!
